Jessica + Ken | Winter Wedding | Downtown Calgary

There's always something special about the first wedding of the year, and this year's edition was no different. Jessica + Ken planned a downtown wedding in late January and it turned out to be one heck of a day!

After hanging out in the morning and snapping some getting ready shots, we all met at over at North Glenmore Park for Jessica + Ken's first look. It's so exciting to capture this special moment between the couple (a favourite of ours after we planned one on our wedding day). The wedding party then joined us for some group shots amongst the pine trees, capturing that winter-wedding feeling.

Before their ceremony, we made a quick stop for some more photos at a parkade near the Calgary Tower. Sometimes the best photos come from re-imagining a seemingly 'ordinary' space and realising the potential. There were so many cool lines and stunning views from the top level - throw in an absolutely gorgeous Wedding Party and the photos basically took themselves.

From there, the venue was shared between The Westin (Ceremony) and the MET Centre (Reception). The whole evening had such a positive vibe and was a constant reminder of why we absolutely love capturing weddings. The Horah at the beginning of the reception was a definite highlight! (Jewish Weddings know how to bring the energy!)

Congrats once again Jessica + Ken! We hope you're loving your first few months as newlyweds :)
