Spain- Madrid & Toledo

It has been quite a while since my last blog post ! We have been really busy this past month travelling around Europe, lots of driving and a few sketchy RyanAir flights (*Just picture Kevin smiling sweetly at the airport agents to let us on with our terribly big suitcases) . As much fun as we've been having exploring these amazing new places, I think we're both happy to have a place to call 'home' for a while. We have safely arrived in our apartment in Saint- Malo, France and I've finally had time to go through some shots from our trip to Madrid earlier in November.

We were kindly invited to visit our friends Nacho & Marion at their lovely home in Madrid. Truthfully, I didn't know what to expect of the Capital city in the centre of Spain. I've spent some time on the coast, in and around Barcelona, but Madrid felt completely different to me. The thing I was the most taken by was the energy of the city. Sometimes large cities seem to be all business but this 'hustle- bustle' was completely different.
Rather than suffering a hangover at home alone on Sunday or prepping for the working week, the locals make sure to enjoy every moment of the weekend to the max. Families, couples and groups of friends head out and spend the day socializing, popping into bars for drinks and tapas. A highlight of the trip for sure, I hope to bring this Sunday-drinking tradition back to Canada (thanks again you guys!)

We had a great time in Madrid and also enjoyed a beautiful day to the ancient city of Toledo. Anyways, I don't want to bore you with the words... take a peek at the photos (a language I'm a bit better with)

Bisous, Bisous xo
